My favorite tools to develop algorithms are R, Python and Matlab.
R: I perform most of the omics analysis in R. Specifically, Bioconductor and Seurat tools are amazing for this purpose. R is easy to learn and several packages are already developed for omics analysis in R.
Python: Python is great for data visualization. Scikit-learn is a great library for modeling and machine learning.
Matlab: Matlab is the first programming language that I used for modeling purposes. It has great tools for model development and testing.Â
